Press Release Body = Dallas, Texas (June 22, 2006) - Up and coming boy/girl folk, rock band Smile Smile will perform at LA's On the Rox bar located in the Roxy Theater on Saturday, July 1st at 9:00 pm. This one night only performance will serve as the bands wrap party of their first video shoot for their current single "Sad Song."
Described as "one of the biggest local success stories ever," the Dallas based band is known for its unique sound of contemporary blended folk, pop and rock with harmonious melodies and powerful vocals through a mix of piano and guitar. The band's first single "Sad Song" can be heard on numerous stations throughout the country.
Smile Smile is composed of singer/song-writers Ryan Hamilton and Jencey Hirunrusme who sought not only to create music about today's prevalent issues, but to also create a new form of upbeat folk rock that would stand the test of time and keep the industry talking and music lovers curious.
"When we formed Smile Smile, we looked at what was missing in the world of folk and pop and then tried to create a sound that was uniquely ours," said member Hirunrusme. "We really wanted our music to be catchy and memorable, but also focusing on the issues that we care about."
Located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, the Roxy has long been the venue for yet-to-be-famous acts such as Tori Amos, the Foo Fighters and David Bowie. On The Rox alone has hosted a wide variety of events in its history, including serving as a regular hangout for John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Alice Cooper and Keith Moon, as well as the venue of choice for the infamous parties arranged by \"Hollywood Madam\" Heidi Fleiss in the 1980s.
After the scheduled performance, Smile Smile will host a meet and greet while handing out autographs and signing CDs of their self titled album released earlier this year.
